Give yourself a gift by making space for a positive Mindset

The average person has an estimated 70,000 thoughts per day! Take a moment to think about the thoughts that run through your mind. Are they uplifting and positive? “Today is going to be an amazing day!! “ Or are they negative and self -deprecating ? “Today is going to be miserable!”

Positive thoughts boost your mood, spirit & tend to generate even more positivity & happiness in your life. Conversely, negative thoughts can create a domino effect of destructive energy. Sucking every ounce of power from your body. Falling into a spiral of negativity tremendously affects how you live your life & how others react to you.

Thankfully you don’t have to accept the internal negative chatter. Choose to switch to a happier perception and reach for more positive thoughts. It takes a little practice, but soon enough you your mind will be gravitating to the brighter side of life. The following are some tips that may help you in creating that positive mindset.

Let Go Of Negative Self-Talk

Bashing yourself on a daily basis has a lasting effect on your spirit. Stop the negative bashing by making a positive comment to yourself & Limiting beliefs Replace beliefs that just aren’t serving you anymore & rework them into positive self-supporting goals.

Comparing yourself to others.

While we may want what others have, comparing yourself to them is counterproductive. Perhaps using them as a benchmark, which is healthier, will shine a new light on how you perceive them.

Make space for:

Gratitude: Even when you do not have it all, focus on what you have today. Keep a gratitude journal & each day write down five thoughts you are grateful for.

Walking with energy & purpose: Even when you feel down & discouraged, stand tall & smile! Smiles can open up doors & are contagious! Kindness is a powerful tool. Surrounding yourself with like-minded, uplifting people People who are exuding positivity will keep you grounded, inspired & connected to your greater life’s purpose. They will help you believe in yourself too.

Reflection: Take time to reflect, meditate, or simply release all thought and emotions. Create stillness in a quiet space & get back to a neutral state of mind & body. Doing good for someone else Focus your energy on lifting up someone else & notice how your spirits elevate as well.

I highly recommend a Ted Talk by Guy Winch on “Why we all need to practice emotional first aid.” He believes we need to develop our Mental Hygiene in order to live happier lives ! It is worth watching.

We at Healthier Living Simplified believe that negative self-talk is destructive & consumes more of our energy than we realize. Rebel against negative self-talk! Create a positive Mindset & reflect on what you do well!!
